Declared Sustainable
We are proud to announce that our products have earned the International Living Future Institute’s Declare label.
Declare is a completely voluntary program designed to provide purchasers and end users with the knowledge of what is actually in building and furniture products. The main component of the program is a Declare label. Declare labels provide transparency to consumers about products. They are a - where, what, what to do – roadmap for materials, answering three questions:
1. Where does the product come from?
2. What is the product made of?
3. Where does the product go at the end of its life?
“I've always known that we make good clean stuff because we believe it's the right thing to do and we make an effort every day. It's great to have the Declare label that will allow our customers to share the same confidence in our products that we have.” Said our co-founder, Seth Meyer.
The program is a win, win, win for manufacturers, designers and consumers as it allows for each to continue their commitment toward a greener and more ecologically healthy environment. The detailed work and accountability of the ILFI gives all invested parties the confidence in the label. There is no “green-washing” here.
“I am thrilled to finally have our products composition made transparent by the Declare label. We founded our company around sustainability, from selecting lowest impact materials and finishes to design for disassembly and sourcing materials locally. Declare is the most transparent product ingredient label, and we want our customers to know how hard we have worked over the years to keep our products as clean and healthy as possible for indoor air quality as wells as for lowest environmental impact.” John Wells, our co-founder and CEO stated.
While most manufacturers have one label per product, we designed our Declare labels to cover a wide range of products, with a relative proportion of ingredients. There are four labels with a duplication of the two with solid wood tops: One set with epoxy fill and one set without epoxy fill.
We are proud to be a part of this program and the commitment to positive improvement and a better fighting chance for the environment that it represents.
